Alumni, Community, Writing

What year did you graduate?
I think it was 2007

What was your major?
Writing

How many years were you at LFAS?
Six – from grade 7 until graduation

What have you done since graduating from LFAS?
When I graduated from LFAS I spent a year
gallivanting around Canada with a friend and a little red car. I picked apples and cherries, survived a Quebec winter, worked in a little cafe in Victoria and then lived on Saturna Island for a summer working as a server at the winery. It was groovy. I have been at UBC for the past four and a half years working on my Geography degree.

What is your favorite memory of LFAS?
Probably working on Midsummer Nights Dream (I was creature of the forest # 7 or something), chamber choir concerts, my first writing major night in the little art gallery, going to all the dance and drama shows!

Looking back at your experience at LFAS, would you have done anything differently?
I would have taken photography instead of hip hop for sure…and taken French grammar more seriously.

What surprised you the most about life after graduating from LFAS?
How it just keeps getting better and better!

What has been your proudest moment since graduating from LFAS?
Hosting my first successful dinner party. It is so incredibly gratifying to feed the people you love. Also, graduating from UBC (this is pride in advance…I did it!)

What advice do you have for current students of LFAS?
Don’t get freaked out by your options. You have lots of time to change your mind. Do what you love, have plenty of adventures and you will end up where you should be.
