Record Breaking PKSS Cheque Revealed at Christmas Assembly

January 2, 2012

Breaking News, Events

The Christmas assembly this year was an overwhelming success. The students, teachers and staff sang and danced and Santa made a special visit.

The Christmas spirit of LFAS really shone through this year when Ms. Doyle presented a cheque for over $45,000.00 to Project Kenya Sister Schools. It was an emotional moment and many people were moved to tears. The money was raised collectively by LFAS students, staff, parents and community members. The PKSS club, which meets every Monday at lunch, led the campaign.

Dr. Gillian Laprairie, the founder of PKSS, kicked in another $10,000, bringing this year’s total to $55,000.00.

A group of LFAS teachers, students and parents are traveling to Kenya this summer to oversee the distribution of the donations.
