International Students Host Chinese New Years Celebration

Breaking News, Celebrate!, International

This year’s Lunar New Year Dinner, a yearly celebration directed by Ms. Hall, was a great success. The parents and guardians of LFAS International students planned and prepared the traditional foods that were served to guests. After school, the hungry students and teachers gathered in the cafeteria.

The dance major students in the ESL program began the party by performing the lion dance, which symbolizes the welcoming of a new year. Then, Ms. Hall gave a short speech, thanking the mothers for putting together the wonderful meal.

The students lined up in front of the buffet table, peering eagerly over each other’s shoulders to see the many different kinds of foods that had been laid out. They filled their plates once, twice, three times, and more, until their stomachs were filled with the taste of home that they long for every day.
