Grade 1 and 2’s Celebrate 100 Days!

February 16, 2012

Breaking News, Elementary

The grade 1 and 2 teachers organized an exciting day for their students, celebrating their 100th day together. Ms. Fengler explained the day:

“February marked the 100th day together at school and we celebrated by coming to school dressed as centurions!

Imagine 6 and 7 year olds pretending to be 100! On this special day, we brought mystery bags with 100 of some item with 3 clues for our friends to guess the contents.

Here is one sample brought by grade two student, Tracy:

1. I’m white.
2. Kittens like to play with me.
3. People panic when they run out of me. What is it?
Give up?
The answer is: 100 sheets of toilet paper!!

We also made self portraits of ourselves on our 100th birthday and strung 100 fruitloops to create a yummy necklace to wear for the day.

The teachers had a ball signing in as retired teachers coming back to teach the classes as TOCs. One child confirmed that, yes, my teacher does have 100 wrinkles on her face. What fun it is to be ‘young’!”
