Seed by Seed – Grades 1 and 2 Learn to Grow

June 20, 2012

Breaking News, Elementary

The grade one’s and two’s came together in the final months of school to perform their show about growing seeds. With a combination of dance, choreography, and dramatic scenes, the production was an adorable spectacle.

The teachers in the Grade 1-2 pod started preparing their classes for the performance right after spring break. Mrs. Venuto and Mrs. Illes choreographed the number, while Mrs. Miller created a slide show of the children’s art work; these were displayed periodically throughout the performance.

When asked whose idea it was to bring the lesson to the stage, grade two teacher Ms. Fengler spoke for all the teachers in the production in saying, “we wanted to show the integration of learning as we prepared to share what we learned.”

Together, the parents, dance department and a selection of teachers put together the costumes, including many flower, bumble bee and carrot outfits.

The grade one’s and two’s managed to present how seeds grow in an engaging and entertaining performance.
