Bake sale kick starts the 7th year of Project Kenya

Cupcakes for Kenya

On both October 11th and 12th, members of this years Project Kenya Sister School‘s team kicked off their year by raising over 500 dollars selling homemade cupcakes to staff and students. It is PKSS’s 7th year running, and with one of their largest volunteer groups yet and many other exciting events planned, it is sure to be a successful one.

Project Kenya Sister Schools is a Canadian organization that focuses and respects the skills and values of Kenyan people, allowing them their dignity while still giving them a helping hand. The charitable organization helps Kenyan children go to school, supplying uniforms and tuition fees, as well as helping the Ol Pejeta Wildlife Conservancy. All the proceeds go directly to Kenya while the local citizens, themselves, decide  what is needed in the community.

With the money raised at the bake sale, PKSS is able to send two children to school for a year. In the future, they hope to hold more fundraisers to continue to support the town of Nanyuki.
