A film crew from Shaw Media recently showed LFAS film and Blue Dog Press students at Langley Fine Arts School how to operate and manage professional film equipment. The crew brought the equipment into the LFAS  theatre and taught students   how to set it up and produce news quality video.

“The workshop was very good,” said Ashley Fraser, one of the participants. “We  learned skills such as camera angles,  switching from camera to camera, as well as using a professional film camera.”

The students were being trained to film a big event called Universal Word Poetry Contest  at the Newton Cultural Centre. Several of the LFAS writing majors performed poems in the event and won all the top prizes.
