ZoomFest 2012

76736_304910432959738_620323919_nLights, Camera, Action! On December 8th, ‘Zoomfest’ (a 48 hour student film festival) held their annual awards gala at Mulgrave school in West Vancouver.

LFAS students, together with 40 other students, enjoyed a night of celebration and film . $50,000 in scholarships from VFS and GIFS, as well as private lessons with top film editors were awarded to several lucky students. LFAS swept the festival by becoming the top winning school in the province.

1st Place Senior Film Overall, 1st Place Best Editing, and 3rd Place Art Direction went to “A Box Of Dreamers” by Jenna Andres, Ben Comin, Abby Hunter, Adam Mah, Julie Rhodes, and Risa Venuto.

1st Place Best Junior Film went to “Brothers” by Liam Hoffman, Cole Muters, Emilio Nicolato, Cole Urquhart, and Avery Vanderkuip.

Best Junior Technical and 2nd Place Junior Film went to “Darren’s Jersey” by Ian DeJong, and Aidan Hunter, Quin Voth, Dustin Wade, and Liam West.

1st Place Junior Performance went to Liam West.

2nd Place Junior Performance went to Cole Muters.

Everyone was extremely pleased with the outcome of the awards ceremony.  2012 became one, if not the best, Zoomfest that has taken place for the students of Langley Fine Arts.
