Across The Line- Relief Concert for Nepal

LFAS hosted a relief concert for Nepal, which had a giant earthquake with a magnitude of 8.1. More than 8,600 people died and twice as many were injured.

This idea was organized by Grade 11 student, Caara Yeung, and Grade 10 student, Jessica Schmidt. Every major at LFAS contributed to this project by performing for an audience on July 2nd at 7 p.m. The concert was a huge success and raised $1400. This concert was student organized.

“When I heard the news of the Nepal Earthquake at the end of April, I really wanted to do something to help. Since the best way that I could help is with the arts, I decided to put on a benefit concert to raise money for relief. I asked Jessica Schmidt to assist me with it and everything went from there! 100% of the proceeds will go to CARE Nepal, which is a specifically Nepalese charity that is working on several projects to help victims of the quake. “
